The Jackson line of products includes safety goggles, earplugs, traffic delineators, traffic barricades, traffic safety cones and traffic safety signs, welding masks and auto darkening welding helmets.
The standards for Work Zone Safety include:
- MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices): The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) is a document issued by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) to specify the standards by which traffic signs, road markings and signals are designed, installed and used. In the United States, all traffic control devices must generally conform to these standards. The manual is used by state and local agencies as well as private construction firms to ensure that the traffic control devices they use conform to the national standard. While some state agencies have developed their own set of standards, their standards must be in substantial conformance with the MUTCD.
- NCHRP 350 (National Cooperative Highway Research Program) The National Cooperative Highway Research Program represents uniform guidelines for conducting full-scale crash tests for permanent and temporary highway safety features along with recommended evaluation criteria to access the test results. The crash performance is judged on
structural adequacy, occupant risk and vehicle trajectory. Category I devices may be self-certified and include traffic cones, channelizer drums (without lights) and delineators. Category II devices must be crash-tested include channelizer drums (with lights), vertical panels, barricades (Types I, II and III) and sign stands.
- ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers): The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who attempt to meet mobility and safety needs and was founded in 1930. ITE is a standards development organization designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Traffic barricade lights must also adhere to ITE testing standards.
- ANSI 107: The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) publishes a regulatory safety standard for high visibility clothing. The standard defines three classes of successively more visible garments that protect workers exposed to increasingly higher levels of risk from motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
- FMVSS 125: Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) is a standard that applies to the shape, size, and performance requirements for reusable day and night warning devices that can be erected on or near the roadway to warn approaching motorists of the presence of a stopped vehicle. Our safety triangles conform to FMVSS standards.
- OSHA: Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a division of the United States Department of Labor. Their mission is to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths by issuing and enforcing standards for workplace safety and health.
- ISEA: The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) is the primary trade association in the U.S. for companies that manufacture safety and personal protective equipment. The member companies are world leaders in the design and manufacturing of protective clothing and equipment used in factories, construction sites, hospitals, clinics, farms, schools, laboratories, emergency response and in the home.
