Pelican quality, indestructibility, and water tight in a mobile tool chest that is designed for rough handling and use in extreme environments. Even when turned upside down tools stay in place when the case is closed due to the unique design. The wide track design stabilizes the case when using the extending pull handle and the footpads in the bottom and lid allow for multiple cases to be stacked. Adjusting the configuration of drawers is as easy as removing 2 phillips screws on each side of the case interior, sliding the adjustable height slider brackets and putting the screws back. You can customize your drawer configuration in a few minutes!

0450ND configuration

Features in more detail

Side rolling/opening with two lids

When in use the case is opened on it’s side with two lids.

Top side work area

The side/top lid reveals a recessed work area so you don’t lose any parts and to set tools you are working on.

Also store removed or backup wheels in this compartment as well.

Front tool storage

The top/front lid reveals variable combinations of drawer configurations. Choose the drawer configuration best for you.

Two way carry handles

Mobility is key with the 0450 case. The Pelican Tool chest has extra deep handles on each end that can be lifted from any direction in the transport position and the open tool chest position. You don’t have to worry about opening the case and then having difficulty moving it around.

Heavy-Duty buttress hinges

Raised ribs on the lid hinge points serves two functions:

1. The stainless steel hinge pin provides extra protection from impact.
2. The lid stops at 180 degrees to serve as a work space.

The lid has been tested to support 50 lbs. open.

Hybrid double-throw butterfly latches

Pelican’s patented Double-Throw Latch has been tested to 382 lbs. of pull force.

The Pelican Tool Chest latch incorporates the same robust design but has been upgraded with a metal butterfly compression latch.

Front-up mobility

By locating the wheels on the back of the chest, the Pelican Tool Case offers a wide, stable track.

This also leaves the front of the chest clear of wheel obstructions, creating more usable drawer space within The case.

Stable wide-track design and extra wide wheels

Extra-wide wheels distribute load over soft terrain.

Polyurethane wheels with stainless steel bearings offer low-resistance transport.

A Nylon hub insulates the tire from heat generated by the ball bearings.
