Hello, my name is zoe

I guess I’ll be the first person to post an introduction.

I’ve always been involved in the arts in one form or another. Though, I would say I have always leaned most towards the art of writing. Not necessarily in quality but certainly in passion. I used to write all kinds of short stories as a child. Once I even wrote what I thought would be a great episode of Battlestar Galactica (the original).

In kindergarten I was a lead in a play, my first taste of fame and fortune to come from arts and entertainment (ha!). I also acted in 7th and 8th grade. I was even Leroy in our school’s version of FAME.

I used to be a better illustrator but that skill has waned over the years from lack of practice, and focus elsewhere (which does seem strange considering I do graphic design-but that is an art unto itself-at least I tell myself that). I started a comic as a child, I think it was about a kid name Greg Manning, and it was my own surreal version of Calvin and hobbes, from the mind of an overthinking cerebral youth.

I published a zine for several years entitled, “Schema Magazine: An information publication for the mentally deranged and the brilliant”.

Over the years there were a variety of performance art things both around the streets of San Diego and in local coffee shops.

I have written and produced several extremely strange and low budget plays. One was an homage to Samuel Beckett and his “Waiting for Godot” entitled “What”. We produced that play my garage we converted into a theater. Yes, our 2 car garage was turned into a 30-40 seat venue for a weekend. I can’t believe we did that.

I paint as a part time hobby, though not in years and never much back then however it was one of the most peaceful things I remember doing. I wonder why I don’t do that anymore? Obsessive compulsive about all the wrong things.

I have started a novel that I am sure will change the world, somehow, specifically how is unclear, but no one will be the same after they read it. Of course I need to finish it.

Anyway, this is my Creative Endeavors introduction. Feel free to say hello and ask me whatever you want.

Oh yeah music

I played the flute through 6th grade (honors band even) but suddenly stopped. I have dabbled with music over the years, but kind of like painting see it as a true hobby just for me. I decided to learn to play keyboard/piano a year or two ago, labored over what keyboard to get, finally plunked the cash down, started practicing semi-regularly (it’s harder than it looks-oh wait it looks hard) and then it was stolen out my garage one summer night and I took it as a sign. Maybe I’ll try that again some day.

Howdy zoe

Haven’t know you as long as Trader Dan but I must say it has been a real pleasure working with you.
