New to online communities? Not sure about stories or blogging?

I was wandering the internet (as I often do into the wee hours of the night), and I found this great video that explains the “big deal” behind blogging.

I thought this was especially relevant because we’ve learned since starting CoTradeCo that not everyone already belongs to a social network (I know it is hard to believe), and that not everyone has a blog. And if you haven’t joined an online community before, and you haven’t posted a lot of content online before, then the CoTradeCo mix of social networking, community blogging, and shopping might seem overwhelming or confusing.

The long and the short of it is, in the past news was made for large groups of people by a small group of people. These people were professionals, and there is nothing wrong with this. But in the 21st century regular people were suddenly able to share their news with small and large groups of people through blogs. As the movie points out, “Isn’t everything news to somebody?” A business can use a blog to post news about it’s company. A mother can use a blog to post news about her family. A club can use a blog to post news about their events.

Well CoTradeCo is a community blog, giving you a forum to discuss things, share ideas, articles, stories, and news with other people who are likely to be intereted. And why are they interested? Because we have communities or groups that people become members of that makes it possible for you to more easily communicate with people that share your interests, a common profession, or similar hobbies.
