Hi: My deck is next to a lot of flowers. The Bees find these folwers very much to their liking. While I was getting the deck ready for painting I was harassed by the Bees. Oh, Great just what I need killer Bees! How am I going to work around these aggresive Bees? Then I remembered orange oil. It worked on termites perhaps on Bees? I put some orange oil into a spray bottle and srayed the flowers. The orange oil did not kill the Bees, But the could not stand the stuff. They would fly up to the flowers and then veer sharply away. Soon the flowers were without Bees! Orange oil is a effective Bee repellent. I wonder if orange oil would work on mosquitos? Anyone willing to try?

Hi Dave:
If you are looking for a natural mosquito repellant, Bert’s Bees makes a really great one. It has rosemary, lemongrass, and some citrus oils. Anyway, I took it camping last weekend and not only did it keep the bugs away, it satisfied by closet-hippy need for a product that was natural and cruelty free!
