Winter Solstice Hike

Alarm went off at 4:30 this a.m. I was on the road at 5:30 and at the base of Cowles Mountain about 5:50. The reason why? To watch the sunrise at a Kumeyaay solstice observatory, about 1/2 way up the mountain. The hike a bit of a challange since it rained last night, but it was all worth it to be sitting on top of the world watching the sun come up. The picture was taken this a.m. on my digital camara, I wish I were a better photographer as it does not do it justice. Anyway Happy Winter to all!!
