Embed Slideshare presentations!

As you hear a lot around here, we are constantly at work building and improving CoTradeCo. There will be a lot of announcements in the coming weeks about some of these new features and where CoTradeCo is going as a trading post and community.

For now, let me say we are very excited to add SlideShare to the available services that you may embed content. Up until a few weeks ago you couldn’t embed anything, then we added YouTube, and now SlideShare.

What is SlideShare?

While I will let the embedded SlideShare presentation explain itself, in short SlideShare are online versions of your PowerPoint, OpenOffice.org, and PDF presentations that people can access safely and easily through a unified interface.

Adding SlideShare embedding to the feature set at CoTradeCo is part of our ongoing committment to provide useful tools and resources for the real people who use our service. We hope that this will help provide another tool especially for business owners, entrepreneurs, clubs, and organizations to promote themselves and communicate more effectively with the community.

While slide shows don’t necessarily offer the same zing as watching videos on YouTube, we think you’ll find that slide show can not only be educational and informative, but equally entertaining on other levels.

From my point of view, videos are often lacking in things such as tutorials, tips, and how-tos. Depending on the quality of presentation, many tutorial type videos can be tedious to get to the “good stuff”. Where the same presentation done in a slide show let’s me work at my own pace and worry less about skipping parts that I might already be familiar with, but might miss something in the process.

At any rate, we encourage to check out the SlideShare service if you haven’t already, and share your presentations here at CoTradeCo. Or if you are just looking to learn something or have some fun browse around SlideShare and see what interesting things you might find, and post those.
