Texas and Seattle are 5-5 in their last 10 meetings against each another. The total situation is that only 3 of the last 10 at any venue between these two teams has resulted in over the total and of those 3 games last played in Seattle only the opening game went over the set total.

Leftie Lee makes his first start of this Season and so has no form entering this match as he has faced the Rangers before though and has numbers of 5-3 with an era of 7.09. Lee has thrown 45 innings of work and has given up 36 earned on 60 hits with 14 walks, his credentials are fantastic but he has struggled at the beginning of his seasons. Last season, in his first 11 starts, he led his team to only one win and opened up with two straight losses giving up 7 earned runs on 10 hits against Texas in 5 innings of work and in his second start against the Blue Jays he gave up 4 runs over 5 innings again. In the 2008 season Lee started well and was awesome that season and in 2007 Lee opened up with 2 wins in his first 4 starts but gave up 14 earned runs. He is a fantastic starter but I think he will have his hands full with a Rangers team who are stealing well and making inroads in their most recent matches.

The Rangers are coming off a very good Series win against the White Sox and their bats have been going well in their last 3 series against the White Sox, the Tigers and Red Sox, scoring 4 or more runs in 9 of their last 11 games at any ballpark. Meanwhile the Mariners are 11-11 on the season so far and are coming off 2 straight wins against the Royals and are 7-2 at home so far this season. I think any team has a chance to pull off the victory, but today, Lee will struggle against the Rangers, whereas we will see the Rangers pulling off the victory. I also see both teams scoring at least 4 runs each, which will give us the total to go OVER the posted.
