I have a show coming up where I will be mixing monitors using the M7CL. Unfortunately I haven’t used it much, it has been a while since then, and I had never actually trained on it. So I thought this might be a good time to find some refresher materials.
Thankfully I found an online video version of the training classes offered periodically around the country. Below are links to these videos which are broken into four parts covering everything from the basics of what and where everything is on the console, typical usage and functionality of every feature of the M7CL, to how to create show files and presets on your computer with or without having an M7CL available.
Total course length: 147min
From the course description at Yamaha: Experience our “CA Training Seminar” online!
The intensive two and a half hour session makes you a M7CL master.
Studio Manager V2 Host Software
This allows you to load various Yamaha consoles for offline/online use, pre-create show files, and more. If you have ever used an emulator on your computer to run different operating systems, this is the same concept. “Host/emulator” loads “Console Editor / OS.”
This is the console file that you load through the Studio Manager above. Download and run setup. The editor will be put into the correct folder under studio manager on your hard drive. Once you open Studio Manager and load the M7CL editor file, a window will appear giving you access to a visual representation of the M7CL screens.
Allows you to control the M7CL directly through the M7CL Editor. You only need this driver if you plan to connect your computer via a Cat5 network cable to the M7CL.
This is a 15 minute interactive flash presentaiton (no audio) giving you a quick look at the M7CL control interface.
