Maybe you could call it a stairshelf or a bookcase, but whatever you call it is really neat.

Check out this amazing staircase cum bookcase in a New York apartment. Absolutely amazing. Levitate Architects had created a small loft apartment, and to maximize space designed this stunning shelf in the stairs concept.

I don’t think you even need to live in an apartment to want this kind of simplistic efficiency in your home. I’m going to bug Trader Dan about doing something like this at our place.

I haven’t lived in an apartment for years (won’t say how many but I’m sure the web team will reveal it at some point) but when I did it was a rather cramped and boring affair, nothing at all like these people are doing on the Apartment Therapy website.

I probably wouldn’t want to go back to apartment living, and I certainly couldn’t handle living in the city anymore, but I do enjoy visiting. Especially with the neat things some of these folks are doing.
