This comes from a new Colgate (Thailand) campaign entitled, “Don’t forget!”
Talk about a creative way to remind folks to brush after eating! What better way than to give someone something that will rot your teeth out (if you don’t brush) and have a “toothbrush” inside. It would have been better if they had used real toothbrushes for the “sticks”. I’ll bet somebody at Colgate suggested that, but really who would want to use a toothbrush that has been frozen into chocolate and ice cream? Um, well I would.
Colgate normally gives out small product samples at annual events like ‘Oral Health Month’ to remind target consumers, especially kids, to take better care of their teeth after eating sweets. This method does not drive strong results as most consumers tend to forget the message, even if they have collected samples.
Instead of giving away product samples, ice cream and cotton candy were given out. The stick carrying the ice cream and cotton candy carries a hidden message. One consumers are done the message printed on the tip of the stick shaped like a toothbrush reveals ’Don’t forget’ with the Colgate logo. The simple message effectively reminded consumers to brush their teeth.
