I just finished writing a piece about BPA and water bottles and I was reminded of this amazing video I stumbled on previously and just had to post it.
The video is in Spanish but you’ll have no problem understanding (update: found subtitled version). This fellow in Brazil is making skylights using 2 liter plastic bottles filled with water mounted permanently into the roofs of buildings. Ingenius, cost effective, and muy luz giving!
At the end of the video the documentarian covers the “2 liter lights” in a dark attic and uncovers them to reveal a massive amount of light. Brilliant.
What other nifty green things have you seen or done?

Well actually it’s not the original but this one has subtitles.

Gotta respect the ingenuity.
Hey Milo, you’d think since you lived through the depression you wouldn’t want anything to do with living simply ;)

Now that is brilliant. It is amazing what you can do with a limited budget and the resources you have around you already. I recently watched a documentary about Affluenza (disorder involving keeping up with the Jones’) and it’s antidote, a return to simpler living, and this fits right in. I think I will post that video.
