Throughout history people have been enchanted by live theatre, mesmerized by the passion and magic of a story unfolding before their eyes, immersed in the anticipation that fills the air as seats begin to fill, the hush that looms just before actors take center stage, and memories that remain long after the final curtain call. Most people, except a child with autism. For a child with autism, changing their routine by traveling to the theatre can be devastating, the sound of applause or first notes of an overture totally overwhelming, and sitting through the first act virtually impossible. This is where the Institute for Educational Achievement (IEA) steps in.
At IEA, through our individualized educational program for students with autism, we have a proven record of breaking the barriers that prevent those we serve from enjoying the magic and power of the arts. IEA is dedicated to providing the most effective intervention for children with autism by teaching them vital skills necessary to have full, rewarding lives, able to participate with their family and in their communities in a wide variety of activities. For families once devastated by a diagnosis of autism, we provide hope and reassurance that miracles are possible – we see them everyday.
On Saturday, April 12th, the IEA Boosters Club will be hosting a Night at the Races at the Meadowlands’ Pegasus Restaurant to benefit our educational program. In the spirit of the arts and philanthropy, we are reaching out to you to join us in our commitment by donating tickets to a Broadway show for this event’s silent auction. Please help us give these exceptional children a chance to experience the spirit and charm of the theatrical community.
On behalf of everyone at IEA, thank you in advance for your willingness to make a difference in the lives of a very extraordinary group of individuals.
Sincerely,
Institute for Educational Achievement

Thanks for posting. Bobbie said just about everything I wanted to say after reading your post.
Don’t forget to put some useful information and links to your organization in your SPOT, and maybe a little about yourself and your role at IEA.
Oh and of course, don’t forget to upload picture so everybody can know who you and your organization are!
My nephew is Autistic and just turned 22. We know how important the wonderful things that you are doing are and am so glad to hear of the successes that you’ve had. Count us in to help in whatever way we can.
Thank you all for your kind words, but the reality is that I am indebted to these children who give me a reason to be part of something much greater than myself.
