Here is a photo of me (Strawberry Shortcake), Trisha (Pirate) and Sarah (Go-Go Butterfly) on Halloween Night a few years ago. This also happend to be the night Abstract Alan wore his cube/triangular/metallic and quite maddening costume. I lament that I don’t have any photos of that…perhaps we can dig some up somewhere?!

A group of us headed down to Hillcrest and I had quite a remarkable time people watching (and being watched….Alan really did intrigue). If you ever want to get an up close and personal gander at adults expressing the fun of Halloween and outrageous costumes, I highly suggest taking a stroll in Hillcrest.

We had a nice dinner, Italian I believe (I can not conceive now, looking back, how Alan was able to eat that night, he had no eye or mouth holes) and then headed up to La Paloma Theater for the Midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. They had a fun costume contest and an even funner ceremony to acclimate the ‘virgins’ in the crowd (guests who have never attended the Rocky Horror Picture Show live) to the scene. I shan’t discuss details here, I would just hate to spoil any surprises for anyone who has yet to attend, but wants to.

I just received some breaking news regarding my Halloween plans for 2008. My kid sister is planning a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico to visit and was shooting for the first week of November. And then she had an epiphany and called me late last night to announce that she is changing her travel plans to specifically accommodate spending Halloween Night in Roswell. She currently has an obsession for the place.

Soooo….I most likely will be changing my entire scheme I had planned for a costume. I do know better than to not put the planning off much longer or I will be disappointed with my last minute throw-together. Off to the think tank!
