Custom Kitting for Industry Specific Items
Jackson 3 months ago // 2 responses // Subscribe Hardworking Folk Tips, tricks, and advice

Kitting has been used in many industries:

The military has used kitting as a form of protection. Foreign Object Damage (FOD) comes in many forms, and is a primary contributor to misplaced and unaccounted for tools. With FOD resulting in loss of life and millions of dollars of damage and downtime yearly, an effective Tool Control Program is a necessity for Military and Civilian Aerospace and flight line operations. Accounting for every tool is not a luxury, it is vital to running a safe and cost efficient flight line operation.

Medical companies have followed this trend of kitting. Companies like PHS (Professional Hospital Supplies) started kitting standard stock items into specific kits for medical procedures. This process allows you receive a custom designed delivery program which minimizes returns, streamlines product flow, reduces inventory and reduces nurse set-up time.

Airline industry uses kits in the manufactuing process. Workers report to the tool cribs to receive work orders and receive a kit that has all the tools needed to complete that given task. This process eliminates countless trips for tools, makes the workers more efficient with time and helps prevent tools loss as they can only check in complete kits.

There are many different types and kinds of kits: first aide, survival, earthquake kits…..

If you have any ideas for kits or kitting please let us know.

Thanks for posting that Jackson. I’m going to start a custom kitting page/section in the store resources.

Custom kits for specific industries, hobbies, and individual uses seem so convenient, but because of the infinite possibilities it has been hard to properly describe and promote this powerful option that is available through CoTradeCo.

If you are new to CoTradeCo, you should know that Trader Dan and the CoTradeCo team do far more than just run an online community and specialty store here at the trading post. As for the products and services we have available, the website doesn’t even scratch the surface. CoTradeCo reps are out everyday working with our larger long term customer offering old fashioned service at modern internet prices.

We can help you find just about any stock item no matter how specialized (or we will find someone who can and we would recommend) but more importantly, like the kits Jackson describes above, we can do so many different custom possibilities it could be years before the trading post truly captures all of what we do here at CoTradeCo.

Here are a few kit related resources and stock products at CoTradeCo:

But truly this isn’t even 1% of the stock kit type items we have available offline, and as for custom kit solutions, we can take any item in our catalog (on and offline) as well as any item in the world (that you already have or we can procure from any source) and put it altogether in any type of bag, case, disposable tray, or box you can dream up. (See just a sampling of the possible container options in our storage and transport store category

Anyway, thank you for visiting CoTradeCo. We hope you spend some time reading/viewing and posting/interacting on the communities here at CoTradeCo as well as trusting Trader Dan and the team with your specialty industry and hobby shopping needs!

Trader Dan

Great info Jackson and zoe.

We are in the middle of creating a new custom kit for one of our customers. Once it is ready we will get that all that information posted as well (well you will get that posted when I send it all to you zoe).

We’ll have info on how we built the kit, what and why we put what is in it, and we’ll even make it available as a ‘stock’ item in the catalog so long as our customer doesn’t mind.

Anything you need, CoTradeCo is here to help! We like helping folks with custom kits because they get EXACTLY what they want and need all in a convenient package, and they are in control of the price every step of the way!

But thank you again Jackson and zoe for starting to talk about this stuff online.
