The U.S. should force the oil companies to lend the $700 billion from their proffits. The U.S. Gov. would then pay back the loan at 1.5% interest over 20 years. That way everyone wins especially the average tax payer. Those in power in Washington tried to make large sums of money in real estate and the stock
market just like the speculators. You notice no laws reining in the speculators is talked about.
