Protective case systems come with a variety of interior protection types and methods. The most common Pelican interior is a foam block called Pick N Pluck foam (see a tutorial on customizing pick n pluck foam on a Pelican 1495 laptop case).
With pick and pluck foam you simply remove custom shapes in the ingenious scored 1/2 inch foam cubes in the block to create a nearly perfect padded protection for most objects. Pick and Pluck foam is a stock accessory on Pelican cases and there is no reason to worry about minimum quantities.
For a more precise exact fit that offers maximum protection we move to custom foam cutting. Using a tool drawing of the items to be protected and a water jet cutter to create a prototype. Once approved the custom cut design is converted to a die-cutter and the final foam is created. Because of the engineering involved, minimum quantities to apply for custom foam cutting.
Another option from Pelican, available on most Pelican cases, are padded dividers. The pads are wrapped in nylon with velcro ends so you can quickly and easily create padded partitions in whatever configuration suits you.
On the deep cube cases, a double layer of padded dividers are available to give easy access to items at the bottom, while staying organized and protected.
Like Pick and Pluck foam, padded dividers are a stock accessory so there are no minimum quantities.
