Pelican case features: Automatic purge valve (video)

Ever wonder how the Pelican automatic purge valve on Pelican cases worked? Or why? Pelican gives a quick explanation in this video. The most important thing to note is that without the purge valve, you would not be able to open air tight and water tight cases when you change altitude due to a vacuum being created by the change in air pressure.

The video cuts off at the end but is not acutally missing any content, only a fade-out and the Pelican logo. The most important part, the CGI graphic showing air molecules, smaller than water molecules, allowed to pass through the GoreTex membrane in the purge valve is shown in it’s entirety.
