Finally the Sox face off against someone they can hit. Sowers (2-7, 5.92 era) is the worst pitcher on the CLE rotation, and this game could re-ignite their bats after some poor offensive performances lately. Vazquez has been cosistantly good, but he always seems to fall apart around the 5th or 6th inning. The offense shouldn’t have a problem giving Vazquez the run support he needs to get the W and avoid getting swept.

Astros, Angels, Phillies.

I like the Phillies play there with Blanton. Garland for the Angles is the only real scare of the three Crotch. He has pitched “ok” this year, and I will take him over Orlando Cabrera anytime, but he is usually good for 3 to 5 runs against big bats, and the Angels are “dogs” for a reason. I could see this game sailing over though…

It must be frustrating to see so many starters sitting this one out for you today Crotch. How does Cal play 2200+ games in a row, but fat ass fielder needs every fourth day off in a game the Brewers need to win. Can’t they just keep an oxygen tank in the dugout for him? On top of that, you have a few others on your bench (Cameron, Durham) in a very important game. They all needed the day off? Maybe you can help me with this one… Today’s game can’t be any less important than yesterday’s or tomorrows…

Cameron I dont understand but Fielder has been doing absolutely nothing against lefties. He has faced like 6 or so straight starters. (Lefties) thats the only reason I can think of. Really scuffling. But I sure wouldn’t be playing the backup catcher at 1st instead of like Dillion or someone. I still say go with your best guys.

I give a lot of credit to Ozzie for a well managed game.

He yanked Vazquez just in time before his typical 6th inning implosion, then he wisely used Dotel and Thorton. But the best move was brining in Jenks in the 8th to shut the door on the Indian’s rally.
