What up JZ, Dollar & Tribe. You guys made it here early for a holiday! Good early baseball games. Even with Johan on the mound, hard to believe the Brewers are dogs with Sheets. Interesting lines today in other games as well…

Cubs -130 (POD)

The Cubs have dominated their division at a clip of 38-23 this season. They are also dominate in Day games at a clip of 44-26. The Astros on the other hand or hovering around .500 in both of those categories I just listed. Let’s not forget that the Cubs are the #1 home team in the NL, and they are coming off 2 straight L’s to the Phils. There is no way the Cubs lose 3 straight @ home…..No way. Especially not to a team that is 32-38 on the road this year in the Astros. The only reason the line is set as low as it is, is the Fact the Astros have Oswalt on the hill for them today…..but is it really an advantage? Oswalt has already got rocked by the Cubs earlier this year going 6.2 Innings allowing 5 runs on 10 hits in a losing effort. On top of that Oswalt is 11-11 vs the Northsiders in his career. Now to the Cubs Starter…..Marquis is a surprising 9-5 vs the Astros in his lackluster career, including 1-0 this year.

I actually watched Kevin Craft, the new UCLA quarterback, when he was playing for his father at San Diego St. The kid is a scrapper, and is more than capable of getting the job done. He’s a coaches son, so he knows the game well. And let’s not forget it is Norm Chow he’s working with. I think people will be surprised to see that Craft will move this offense. Jizzle, i’m with you on this over i think.

Two of the best pitchers in the national league, two solid offenses. Probably a good game to watch, but tough to play either way. Public is not heavily one sided either, leaning slightly on the Mets

It is amazing how bad Verlander has been this year for the Tigers. They started off the year as the biggest disappointment in the league, and it sure looks like they will finish that way

BOS (RL -120)

Byrd has been pitching good lately going deep into games. He will give up 3 or 4 on avg thru 6, but with the offense BOS has, that should be enough. Olson, on the other hand, is getting another chance at the majors after gettting sent down to triple-A. BOS is hot right now, and this game is going to be a nightmare for Olson. BOS kills lefties (13-4 in their last 17 at home against lefties) and should put up a bunch on BAL.
