This is my 2nd favorite college football team this year. I believe that everything is in place for them to play for the National Title. I believe this team showed a lot of heart last year, and surprised alot of people. This year they come in with a target on their backs, but they are more than ready for the challenge. This team is dynamic on both sides of the ball. Their speed and precision, combined with their coaching, make this team unbelievably good. I believe Coach Pinkel is one of the fastest rising coaches in the business. He is no nonsense, and he demands nothing short of his players best every single day. That demanding demeanor makes his team fearless and focused.

Speaking of focused, how good is Chase Daniel?? He is the epitome of a Senior Quarterback. This guy is a stud. I believe that if he leads his team to the BCS Title Game, that he is your Heisman Trophy Winner. He is that good. He is a perfect fit for this version of the spread offense. This kid puts up video game stats. There isn’t a game situation he will face all year that will faze him. That calmness and leadership will greatly help the rest of his team. Daniel leads by example, and his teammates look up to him. He is everything you want in a college quarterback. It doesn’t hurt that he throws to Jeremy Maclin, arguably the sleekest talent in the country. This guy is simply a gamebreaker. Wherever he touches the ball, he can score. He is an amazing talent. These two lead an offense that is EXPLOSIVE. I’m not sure there is a team outside of Texas Tech that can compete with these guys. Daniel is a gunslinger, and he literally owns every Mizzu offensive record. He will continue to dominate, as this unit is entering ground breaking waters.

The greatest thing about this years Tigers is their defense. They return 9 starters from a unit that was pretty good last year. They run a coverage based defense, that is famous for it’s bend but don’t break mentality. This years unit features game changing talents. They are a year older, and a year wiser. I expect big things from this unit, especially the defensive line. Included in the defense, is the special teams. Outside of Virginia Tech, there might not be a finer special teams unit than the Tigers. Maclin is a threat everytime he returns a kick. They will have solid field position each game. They also have a Lou Groza candidate in Kicker Jeff Wolfert. This Kicking game will prove vital down the stretch.

This team is loaded. There are no weaknesses. Solid coaching, two Heisman Candidates, a tough as nails defense, and world class special teams. This years schedule sets up perfectly for the Tigers. If they play their cards right, and focus on each game, they can run the table. Obviously if they do, they are playing in the BCS Title Game. I believe they are a team of destiny, and i like them to be one half of the BCS Title Game as my #2 team in the country.
