Recently we had a black out that lasted 72 hours. The cross tree on the power pole rotted and broke shorting out the entire street. I got out the flashlights and battery lanterns and went on with business. The next door neighbor, (who has made fun of me for being a survivalist) wanted to borrow a couple of flashlights. He asked me to put together a list of items for a basic disaster kit. Here is that list.
