I grew up in Jersey. When I was young my family kept my “powers” a secret to protect me, but especially during the holidays I would do readings for everybody.

When I got a little older I did some really stupid stuff. Me and my teenage boyfriend (bad boy type but what do you expect from a poor young girl from Jersey!) started running little scams using my psychic powers. But something went wrong, maybe I didn’t think to look for it, but more likely it is part of the gift, I didn’t see the future where the police staked out our little operation and busted us.

Sitting overnight in a jail cell (my family was the kind that believes in teaching you a lesson and not bailing you out right away every time trouble comes). And I did learn my lesson. I vowed sitting in that dingy cell that I would never use my powers for personal gain again.

Years later, things got tight with money, and I had to make the hard decision if I could even charge people to do readings. Luckily I found a philanthropist who also ran a traveling carnival. He agreed that money made from my tent would go towards taking care of the other performers, keeping the food tent stocked, with generous donations to the charities he was already involved in, and I would get a small salary. This is how I justified using my powers to make a living. And it must have been a good decision.

While traveling in the West, that is when I met Trader Dan for the first time. It was love at first site, but those were different times, and a fella didn’t just ask a girl to run off with him. But lucky for me, anytime the carnival came within three states of where Trader Dan was conducting business, he would be there. It was really romantic (in an old fashioned sort of way) when Trader Dan and the Carnival owner showed up at my tent one night. It turns out that Trader Dan couldn’t figure out who or where my real family was, so he asked the carnival owner if he could ask for my hand in marriage. The carnival owner had his own little secret. As soon as Trader Dan asked me to marry him in that circus tent, the carnival owner announced that he had been putting a certain percentage of my earnings (which turned out to be quite a bit) into a savings account and he was giving it to me to start my new life.

And that is how I joined up with Trader Dan and we traveled the country helping people get stuff, swapping stories, and me doing readings for people. I still donate a lot of the money from my readings, but like the carnival owner, I have a savings account, but this will be for my children to go to school!

Anyway, now here I am the Trading Post helping out however I can. But in case you were wondering, I don’t use my powers for direct financial gain, at least not by exploiting the future for personal gain. I will do general readings for CoTradeCo. The fact is people need advice more than they need to know the future. The future is something to be experienced when you get to it, in the present moment!
