Shipping policies

When items are shipped

In-stock items are usually shipped within 1-2 days.
Trader Dan will contact you if there will be a delay.

Out-of-stock and non stock items are typically shipped within 3-5 days. If we cannot ship out-of-stock or non stock items within 5 days we will contact you immediately. Some non stock items are manufactured to fit your order and these items may have a longer than 5 day lead time. We have attempted to note that on those products in our online catalog. Regardless, we will notify you of the expected ship date.

Shipping rates: Domestic continental U.S. we use FEDEX Ground or the US Mail

FREE SHIPPING on most orders of $150.00 or more
On orders less than $150.00 we charge a flat fee based on the order total before tax.

Free shipping and flat rate fees above only apply to domestic continental U.S. deliveries. These orders are shipped by GROUND 3-5 days through the ground shipper of our choice. We most commonly use FedEx Ground and USPS.

If you prefer another shipping method we are happy to oblige but we cannot automatically calculate shipping charges at checkout for other methods at this time. If you would like to choose another shipping method please call us and we will review your order and contact you with final charges for your approval prior to shipping. Nothing will be shipped other than our standard shipping terms without your approval

Because the trading post offers both retail and business to business services some items are simply so odd shaped or dramatically oversized/heavy that we would lose our shorts. These items will be clearly identified on their product pages and in your shopping cart as “TBD” to be determined.

If you order one of these items we will not be able to automatically calculate shipping during checkout and we will review your order and contact you with final charges for your approval before we ship your order.

Military APO/FPO addresses

The US Postal Service is the only courier we use which will ship to an APO or FPO address. We are happy to ship to our men and women overseas, however the US Postal Service will not provide delivery confirmation for such packages. It is at the risk of the customer to have a package sent to an APO/FPO address. Once it leaves our warehouse, we have no way of proving delivery, nor tracking the package. Our experience has shown that it could take 4-12 weeks for a package to reach its APO destination. If you are unsure of where you will be, may we suggest you have the package sent to a domestic address first for you to have forwarded to your APO/FPO location.

Refunds and returns

Refund and return overview

You may return most new, non-made to order, stock unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will pay return shipping costs if the return is the result of an error by CoTradeCo or our suppliers. If it turns out that you want to return something “just because” then you will be responsible for the return freight and any restocking fees from the manufacturer. We have negotiated the best prices , on your behalf, and to preserve them we ask that you make sure of what you are ordering before we both incur freight costs shipping things back and forth.

Some of the items we sell are made to order, for example the Cox Reels, Ultra Tech and Guardian Fall Protection lines are produced after we know your specific needs and would not be returnable. We offer 24/7 phone assistance on our entire line so if you are not sure of what you need please call us before you place your order. Call 866-530-4804 to receive an authorization number requesting a return of the merchandise. Returns must be requested and approved within 30 days of delivery to receive your refund.

Refunds are processed as soon as the merchandise is received at COTRADECO and refunds will be mailed within 7 days of our receipt.

Manufacturers warranties

As an authorized dealer of all product lines at CoTradeCo, we will honor all manufacturer warranties above and beyond our standard policies listed here. Manufacturer warranties are typically linked to from relevant products and by browsing our resource library.

Items that not returnable:

  • Hazardous materials or items using/containing flammable liquids or gases
  • Items missing their serial number or UPC

Partial refunds

Exchanges

If you receive a defective (damaged) or incorrect item (wrong color/size/style) due to damage or an error by CoTradeCo or our suppliers you may exchange the item. CoTradeCo will pay all shipping charges regardless of initial shipping method.

To exchange an item Contact us 866-530-4804 for an authorization number and return the merchandise. Create a new order for the item you are exchanging. We will refund the original purchase price and return shipping costs within 4 weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. You place the exchange item order at any time.

Cancelled orders

You may cancel an order at any time prior to shipment.
Once an order has been shipped it will be treated as a return if you need to cancel the order.

Prices

CoTradeCo strives to maintain prices at the lowest level. Occasionally, prices change without notice due to circumstances beyond our control. While rare, we reserve the right to modify the order. If this occurs you will be contacted immediately to inform you of any change to your cost for your approval. Trader Dan will never charge you more for anything without consulting you first, though he has been known to charge less without your permission.

Community policies

An important part of the CoTradeCo experience is community building and social networking. We encourage our visitors to post stories and images from their own lives for work and pleasure, stories and reviews of our products, as well as tools for promoting yourself and your business.

This is a free no-cost service provided for our visitors which requires an account (a SPOT) with CoTradeCo.

All material submitted to the CoTradeCo website is copyright and belongs to the individual who submitted it and grants CoTradeCo certain limited usage rights (like showing it on our website, but see below for more specifics). Please do submit copyrighted material that does not belong to you. Otherwise have fun and play civil. People submitting material violating copyright or otherwise acting like a jerk will have their accounts deleted from the system.

Your post, your copyright

You retain all rights to content submitted to CoTradeCo and our communities. All work is presumed to be all rights reserved© by the individual who posted the content. You may grant other rights using Creative Commons as you see fit (quick-add licensing links are available in the formatting toolbar when posting.

However, by posting to CoTradeCo and our partner community sites, you grant unlimited non-exclusive rights to broadcast this content on any of the domains we operate, or on partner community sites clearly indicating their relationship to CoTradeCo, as well as limited rights to use posted content for the purposes of promoting, advertising, educational, and marketing CoTradeCo. You are not giving CoTradeCo the right to publish your work in another medium for profit.

Basically, we will display your content online on our sites (obviously) and we might choose outstanding contributions to use for promotional flyers, advertisements, catalogs, commercials, etc… but will not take your content and sell it in a book with other content for profit. Editorial rights

CoTradeCo reserves the right to edit and/or remove content for any reason. While we are not in the habit of censoring posts, from time to time we might fix gramatial and spelling errors, mark content as “adult” or “NSFW” (Not Safe For Work).

Communities, stories community blog, your SPOT, and SPAM

Our goal is to provide the most useful online resource for the communities and industries we serve. Our policies are designed to help protect our visitors from any kind of online abuse. Real people posting real items is unlikely to ever be considered SPAM.

SPAM will not be tolerated in the CoTradeCo community blog stories. We provide various story topics for individuals, businesses, clubs, and other organizations to share information, network, and dialogue. All community blog story posts should be done in the appropriate community and story topic in order to provide focused and useful information to our communities.

CoTradeCo provides a special story topic called SHAMELESS PROMOTIONS for the purposes of encouraging our communities to promote their own ventures and activities and is one of the core services of CoTradeCo. If you are posting an event, an advertisement, or other promotional item be it for profit or not, please post it in the Shameless Promotions story topic. While the CoTradeCo trading post encourages everyone to post, there are some items and circumstances that can be considered SPAM even within the Shameless Promotions story topic.

Items considered SPAM at CoTradeCo

  • Posting the same exact story twice.
    We allow repeated postings for the same business, service or club but limit the frequency of posting to once per week per community for similar postings, but require each posting to be unique in description. Identical duplicate entries will be deleted.
  • Identical posts on third party services
    Feel free to post your content on multiple sites and services, but please try to provide some unique in your postings here (e.g. some alternative verbiage).
  • Automated posting
    Posting content via robots for the purposes of mass distribution is not allowed. We may offer various means of sharing syndicated content but this is very different from a program or bot spamming our site.
  • Links to external sites without description or clear purpose.
    You must always provide adequate and useful summary description explaining the purpose and usefulness of any post or profile links. Any external links should make sense and be useful in the context they are provided.
  • Content offering get rich quick style business opportunities
    While we promote networking and business opportunities we do not endorse or support multi-level marketing systems and vague undefined opportunities. Basically do not post anything that doesn’t clearly explain itself, requires enrollment in a low risk huge income opportunity, or is not a clearly legitimate business opportunity that you would consider pitching at a local Chamber of Commerce.
  • Ongoing posting without providing a profile image and some basic profile information
    Part of the usefulness of our communities comes from real human interaction. Repeatedly posting on CoTradeCo, especially advertisements, without a SPOT that shares a little about who you are does not enrich our communities
  • Posting irrelevant information
    Content posted that has no use whatever to our community members, even in the Potluck community

Any post considered SPAM will be deleted from the CoTradeCo servers at our discretion. Repeated SPAMMING of our site will result in your SPOT being deleted. We regret to even have to think about, let alone discuss the potential of SPAM here at CoTradeCo, but these policies are here to protect all of us.
