Store policies

Payment Methods

Credit Cards: We gladly accept Master Card, Visa and American Express for shipments within the United States. We only accept American Express or PayPal on orders requesting international delivery.

For your protection the account billing address, phone number, name and shipping address must match.

Your credit card statement will show the card being charged to our corporate name “The Shorebird Corporation.”

PayPal

Bank wire transfer: Funds must be received prior to shipping.

Refunds and returns

Refund and return overview

You may return most new, non-made to order, stock unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will pay return shipping costs if the return is the result of an error by CoTradeCo or our suppliers. If it turns out that you want to return something “just because” then you will be responsible for the freight, both ways,and any restocking fees from the manufacturer. We have negotiated the best prices on your behalf and to preserve them we ask that you make sure of what you are ordering before we both incur freight costs shipping things back and forth.

Some of the items we sell are made to order, for example the Cox Reels, Ultra Tech and Guardian Fall Protection lines are produced after we know your specific needs and would not be returnable. We offer 24/7 phone assistance on our entire line so if you are not sure of what you need please call us before you place your order at (760) 505-6385 or (760) 519-1612.

Call (769) 519-1612 to receive an authorization number requesting a return of the merchandise. Returns must be requested and approved within 30 days of delivery to receive your refund.

Refunds are processed as soon as the merchandise is received at COTRADECO and refunds will be mailed within 7 days of our receipt.

Manufacturers warranties

As an authorized dealer of all product lines at CoTradeCo, we will honor all manufacturer warranties above and beyond our standard policies listed here. Manufacturer warranties are typically linked to from relevant products and by browsing our resource library.

Items that not returnable:

  • Hazardous materials or items using/containing flammable liquids or gases
  • Items missing their serial number or UPC
  • Gift cards or certificates
  • Perishable items
  • Items that have been used.

Partial refunds

  • Items returned 30 days after delivery
  • CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, or any other products easily duplicated
  • Items not returned in the condition it was received

Exchanges

If you receive a defective (damaged) or incorrect item (wrong color/size/style) due to damage or an error by CoTradeCo or our suppliers you may exchange the item. CoTradeCo will pay all shipping charges regardless of initial shipping method.

To exchange an item Contact us (760) 505-6385 or (760) 519-1612 for an authorization number and return the merchandise. Create a new order for the item you are exchanging. We will refund the original purchase price and return shipping costs within 4 weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. You place the exchange item order at any time.

Canceled orders

You may cancel an order at any time prior to shipment.
Once an order has been shipped it will be treated as a return if you need to cancel the order.

Prices

CoTradeCo strives to maintain prices at the lowest level. Occasionally, prices change without notice due to circumstances beyond our control. While rare, we reserve the right to modify the order. If this occurs you will be contacted immediately to inform you of any change to your cost for your approval. Trader Dan will never charge you more for anything without consulting you first, though he has been known to “charge less without your permission.”

Shipping policies

When items are shipped

In-stock items are usually shipped within 2-3 days.

Trader Dan will contact you if there will be a delay.

Out-of-stock and non stock items are typically shipped within 5-7 days. If we cannot ship out-of-stock or non stock items within 5 days we will contact you immediately. Some non stock items are manufactured to fit your order and these items may have a longer than 5 day lead time. We have attempted to note that on those products in our online catalog. Regardless, we will notify you of the expected ship date.

Shipping rates: Domestic continental U.S. we use FEDEX SmartPost, FEDEX Ground or USPS

Trader Dan offers FREE SHIPPING on orders of $100.00 or more (unless otherwise indicated).

On orders less than $100.00 we charge a flat fee $ 10.00.

Free shipping and flat rate fees above only apply to domestic continental U.S. deliveries. These orders are shipped by GROUND 3-5 days through the ground shipper of our choice. We most commonly use FedEx Ground, UPS and USPS.

If you prefer another shipping method we are happy to oblige but we cannot automatically calculate shipping charges at checkout for other methods at this time. If you would like to choose another shipping method please call us and we will review your order and contact you with final charges for your approval prior to shipping. Nothing will be shipped other than our standard shipping terms without your approval

Exceptions to FREE/Flat domestic shipping

  • Products weighing more than 35 pounds
  • Shipments to customers in AK, HI, PR or international destinations, however we do offer affordable rates to these locations.
  • Military APO/FPO addresses
  • Alternate shipping method of your choice
  • Really odd shaped items
  • Giant and exceptionally heavy items
  • Products where we have a flat shipping fee listed
  • Items that have “TBD” (to be determined) notations

Because the trading post offers both retail and business to business services some items are simply so odd shaped or dramatically over sized/heavy that we would lose our shorts. These items will be clearly identified on their product pages and in your shopping cart as “TBD” to be determined.

If you order one of these items we will not be able to automatically calculate shipping during checkout and we will review your order and contact you with final charges for your approval before we ship your order.

Rush/Express shipments

All express shipping (2nd day, overnight, same day, etc…) requests MUST BE PHONED IN and REQUESTED IN PERSON due to the varying costs involved based on size, weight and distance.

We will be adding express and alternate shipping options to the online checkout soon, but for now we cannot guarantee express delivery online. Because the costs vary so much on these type of services we will not ship your order until you approve the charges.

Military APO/FPO addresses

The USPS is the only carrier that can deliver mail and packages to APO/FPO/DPO locations. Delivery tracking information is available for APO/FPO/DPO packages if you specify: Priority Mail Express; Priority Mail; USPS tracking; First Class Package Service; Registered or Certified Mail. Use the customs declaration form number to track the status of your shipment. For the majority of these USPS shipping services you can expect 7-13 day delivery except for Parcel Select that can take up to 30-45 days. APO/FPO/DPO mail will be delivered to personnel across the globe as long as you have assigned a ZIP code, also referred to as an APO/FPO/DPO number.

Please specify “inside delivery” and any other special delivery requests in the comment box at checkout. We do our best to accommodate all requests, even gift wrapping for special occasions.

All material submitted to the CoTradeCo website is copyright and belongs to the individual who submitted it and grants CoTradeCo certain limited usage rights (like showing it on our website, but see below for more specifics). Please do submit copyrighted material that does not belong to you. Otherwise have fun and play civil. People submitting material violating copyright or otherwise acting like a jerk will have their accounts deleted from the system.

Your post, your copyright

You retain all rights to content submitted to CoTradeCo. All work is presumed to be all rights reserved © by the individual who posted the content. You may grant other rights using Creative Commons as you see fit (quick-add licensing links are available in the formatting toolbar when posting.

However, by posting to CoTradeCo, you grant unlimited non-exclusive rights to broadcast this content on any of the domains we operate, as well as limited rights to use posted content for the purposes of promoting, advertising, educational, and marketing CoTradeCo. You are not giving CoTradeCo the right to publish your work in another medium for profit.

Basically, we will display your content online on our sites (obviously) and we might choose outstanding contributions to use for promotional flyers, advertisements, catalogs, commercials, etc… but will not take your content and sell it in a book with other content for profit. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Editorial rights

CoTradeCo reserves the right to edit and/or remove content for any reason. While we are not in the habit of censoring posts, from time to time we might fix grammatical and spelling errors, mark content as “adult” or “NSFW” (Not Safe For Work).
