Ethanol is the same type of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, and has also been touted as the solution to reduce our dependence on foreign oil AND has promised to be a biofuel gasoline replacement. According to the claims, ethanol would help ease petroleum use and help abate greenhouse gases that may lead to global warming. For a while it seemed everybody was in agreement. The environmentalists see a bright yellow future and politicians see a wise political move.
But is any of it true?

When I think of Philips I think of electronics and appliances. But I don’t think about a building sustainable city design. Yet that is exactly what they are thinking and working towards.
Philips has launched a series of what they call “Design Probes.” These design probes are intended to, “track trends and developments that may ultimately evolve into mainstream issues that have a significant impact on business,” as part of a “far-future” research initiative.
